Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP)

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is now accepting applications for the Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP), a competitive, reimbursement-based grant program that provides funding for boating access projects and boating-related improvements that benefit recreational boating throughout the State of Florida.

FBIP provides funding for projects located on both coastal and inland waters and is funded through state fuel tax revenues and vessel registration fees. Eligible applicants include counties and municipalities.

The current application cycle is open February 9, 2026 through April 13, 2026. Applications must be submitted through FWC’s Boating Access Programs Application System.

Eligible Project Types May Include:

  • Boat ramps and launching facilities
  • Floating or fixed docks and piers
  • Mooring buoys and mooring systems
  • Parking, restrooms, and lighting at boating access sites
  • Recreational channel markers and uniform waterway markers
  • Boater education and safety initiatives
  • Studies, surveys, and other boating-related activities that improve public access
